The Original Buddhism Meditation Society of Enlightenment
Brief Introduction
The original Buddhism Meditation Society of Enlightenment, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization officially registered in New York, USA.
Objective: “Homage to the Buddha Sakyamuni, Believes in the Four Noble Truths, and Respect the Sangha”. Promote the Buddha’s doctrine of awakening, liberation, loving-kindness and compassion, and rely on the original feature of the Buddha’s doctrine. Teach the true, clear and complete practice stages, and spread the pragmatic and attainable methods of Vipassanā meditation to benefit people toward perfect Enlightenment, so that the brilliance of the Buddha, the Dhamma, and the Sangha, and Vinaya can be manifested to let the right doctrine last forever.
Members: The society has the “Sangha” as board of directors, laity disciples as supporters, to assist and propagate the Original Buddhism.
Regulations:
1. All the Sangha members do not accept, do not accumulate, and do not use money in their entire life. According to the right path of the Dhamma and precepts, they devote themselves to promote the Buddha’s doctrines to benefit all sentient beings.
2. All the Sangha members do not accept monetary donations to support their living requisites. The living requisite of the Sangha members is offered personally by voluntary disciples or pious laity as actual items that the Sangha members need right now. The Sangha members must directly accept this donation.
3. Any deposit to O.B.M.S.E. will be used only for the purpose to spread the Buddha’s doctrines, and will not be used for the personal requisites of any Sangha member. All donations will be managed and used according to this guideline: “specific donation for specific purpose.”
4. We have no soliciting agent, no staff to accept cash donations, and do not appoint any organization to solicit for contributions. We only accept donors to deposit their donations directly to the bank account of OBMSE, or mail their checks to us.
5. Any pious laity who participates in our Dharma affair to promote the Buddha’s doctrine should pay respect to the Buddha, the Dhamma, the Sangha, and follows the regulations of O.B.M.S.E.
Programs:
1. Spread the Buddha’s “practice stages of enlightenment path” to develop Buddhists’ right views.
2. Spread the Buddha’s “Vipassana meditation” to fulfill Buddhists’ attainments.
3. Distribute books and CD to promote the Buddha’s “Enlightenment Path”.
